Brighton is an amazing place. Ask anyone who has ever visited what their trip was like; stop and chat with someone who lives here and in most cases they will be happy, laid-back, bohemian and ever-so slightly unconventional. But when it comes to business, Brighton is an incredible place to set-up and trade. Not just because it has so many interesting areas and local neighbourhoods each with a distinct feel and flavour but more-so for the creative, talented, passionate people who fit perfectly into these unique spaces and who want to share with the community.

This week I would like to write about another fledgling Brighton business which happens to be one of my "go-to" destinations whenever I have a few moments to set foot outside the studio. However, what makes this doubly special is that these guys moved to Brighton (May 2015) especially to open their business!

Eat Naked, a "clean eat" deli situated in Brighton Lanes in East Street Arcade is run by Stacie Stewart and Ryan Brown. For those interested in cookery, you may have already seen Stacie as a finalist on MasterChef, a judge on Simon Cowell's "Food Glorious Food" or looking gorgeous in ITV's "This Morning" kitchen... plus countless other TV and prestigious appearances. Oh yes, she is a skilled and knowledgeable chef with one published book and another due for release soon.

What I find so appealing about Eat Naked is not just the honesty of every ingredient (origin, quality, cost) but having complete trust in both Stacie and Ryan's exceptionally high taste standards and innovative approach to food. "To us we like to make our calories count, empty calories don't make healthy people" - what a pleasing yet profound statement.

In addition, the generosity of Stacie is clear to see from her blog where she shares delicious recipes and handy tips. It is no wonder then that her own incredible fitness and lifestyle journey has brought her to a place of receiving appreciative nods from the hardiest of vegans, thanks and gratitude from those who needed a dietary kick-start into good habits and a huge thumbs-up from the conscientious, mindful and healthy folk of Brighton

Brighton has an overwhelming abundance of cool eateries winning national awards for being "best" in every class judge-able and deservedly so, but how many of these can boast having the owner look at what you have just ordered and in seconds work out the exact Kcals and protein (Bulletproof coffee and protein ball = 250Kcals and 12g protein / £4) and then tell you about the beneficial effects of each ingredient. But when every single delicious item (including juice, smoothie and even the nut milks are made freshly in-store every morning) it is hardly surprising that a comprehensive factual and in-depth knowledge is so readily shared.

Rather than listing the "grab and go" breakfasts, protein shakes, clean treats, deli counter, hot daily specials, superfood smoothies, cold pressed juices, nut milks, drinks...I have attached a copy of the menu here. Do print it and spend a few minutes reading, absorbing and salivating. It will pique your curiosity, interest you whatever your fitness or lifestyle choices and absolutely delight your tastebuds from the very first mouthful...or sip. Oh, and before I forget, there is also a 3-day juice cleanse pressed especially for you.

So, whenever you can, pop-in and say "welcome" to Stacie and Ryan. They really are super people worthy of a friendly "Hello!" and doing great things for Brighton (& Hove) waistlines.
